To blog, or not to blog?

Wow, how many times has that line been overused? I could have followed it up with "That is the question!" and then it would have been REALLY bad, but I didn't do that. Aren't ya glad? I thought so.

As the title says, I've been tossing around the idea of creating a personal blog for a while now. Sometimes there are things that I want to share on here about my life, but it doesn't really fit with the idea of a shopping blog. I love this blog and it would certainly remain my priority, but I think it might be kind of fun to write about some of the things that I happen to find interesting in my little life. (Like the fact that hubby and I can't manage to get the water in our hot tub balanced correctly. Seriously, we are two educated people who can't use simple test strips to figure out what to fix.)

But then, the questions. Would you read it? Would ANYONE read it? How do I know that people are going to enjoy reading what I have to say? Is it odd of me to want to share these details with the world?

What do you think? If I wrote a personal blog, would you read it? Or are you here for the cool products only? Weigh in in the comments if you feel so inclined!

(Oh, and then what in the WORLD do I name it?)

I like to read a little bit of everything, in fact I prefer blogs that have a nice mixutre of personal, humor, and everything in between.

I would read more if you had a personal blog as well. I try to mix in a little of everything. Like with Maternity Week I am giving my own personal rouch to everything. It's a hard one to do and I wish you all the luck Erika. I'll def. read and I would love to see more of YOU and your adorable daughter!

No reason you can't just compile a personal blog with this blog. Seems to me that part of you is the "chic shopper chick" and part of you is your life outside finding wonderful giveaways and doing reviews! No reason why ya can't humor us inbetween giveaways and reviews :D LOL
Good luck making a decision! :)

Hey Erika,

I've actually found while I get high traffic to PPV people LOVE to comment on my everyday life of KIC...although I do every now and again add something about my fam in PPV because not all of my PPV readers read KIC.

A personal blog just lets them in, ya know!

I'd read it! Maybe you could just make it a separate section on CSC?

I'd read both!! I love the items to bring to Chic Shopper Chick, but I'd love to hear stories too.

We had a pool this summer, btw...I couldn't get the thing to balance out either...needless to say, we didn't get much swimming done!!

OH heck yeah I would read it! I have been meaning to beg you to start a personal blog so that I can know as much about you as you know about me, but I hadn't gotten around to it yet! It was on my to do list...guess I can cross off "quilt CSC into blogging" !

I would read it. I have 3 kids and crazy life. I want to see what's up with other mom? same struggles as I go through? if Yes, what can I learn from others.

I struggle with the same thing. The two voices can often overlap--but not always. Sometimes I have a great story to share, but it simply doesn't work on Momtrends. Plus, my husband has major concerns about privacy. So shopping and parental tips for me. Let me know what you decide.

I just found your blog and I don't think you would have to start another blog just for personal items. Laura at the Organizing Junkie blogs about both organizing and family. It can be done. Maybe just begin your family related posts with a "Family:" to notify your readers that this is a family related post and tag it as such. Just my 2 cents!

I would definitely read it, especially after getting to know you. This really is the question for me too! I have a family blog and decided to add a link to it, but it's been an interesting balance.
