Pool Envy

After what seems like a whirlwind 36 hours, we are in Las Vegas for a little R and R before Blog World Expo starts on Saturday. We feel quite attractive, cruising around Vegas in our little Chrysler mini-van. I have to admit, we laughed at the concept -- and at how much parenthood changes you. I was so excited to have a DVD player in the car that it was perhaps a little alarming.

After sleeping in this morning to 10:35 (12:35 pm at home!!) we quickly got ready, and after a short delay getting out of the hotel room (wait, I forgot my makeup, lets go back up. Door closes. Whoops, I don't think I have my phone. Back in. Babe! Can you come help me find my phone? Room search ensues, with a bit of grumbling from hubby. Phone in suitcase. Door closes. Oops, left the other bag. Back in. Finally ready to go.) we hopped in our cool ride minivan and drove out to the Green Valley Ranch Resort to have lunch.

After our lunch, we walked around the Resort a bit, and then I insisted that we go out to the pool. Let me explain something. Some people have house envy, others have car envy, but I have pool envy. I am a swimming pool freak. There are few things that I love more in this world than swimming pools of all shapes and sizes. I'm not kidding when I say that when I was little I used to think that I wanted to design swimming pools for a living. Well, the pool at the Green Valley Ranch Resort invoked the most lustful feelings I ever thought possible for a person to have for a swimming pool.
Trust me when I say that these pictures don't begin to do it justice. This is most possibly the swankiest poolside I've ever seen. I loved the large lounge beds for sunbathing, the lushly landscaped grounds, and the private infinity-edged pools for the those fortunate enough to have rented a private cabana. I look forward to the day that I can come back to Vegas and stay here at the GVR!
