«Oldest ‹Older 3601 – 3800 of 5415 Newer› Newest»There are so many cute little girl rooms.
I'll probably wait until she's out of the crib.
I love her nursery, it's my favorite room of the house!
I always like to change things up though!
My hubby is going out of town for a few days...
I'm dreading it!
He hasn't had to travel since before Pea was born!
It's the busiest week too, I have a staff mtg. on Wednesday morning...
Usually Paige goes along with me, but I have to open the Tech center so she's got to go to my mom's.
Which is fine, but then Johnny is going to have to get himself out the door for school because we have to leave at 7:30.
I dunno...plus, I worry about Pea missing her daddy.
She's a total daddy's girl.
When she sees him she claps her hands then raises them up.
I don't know how she'll take it.
My goal, like every Monday, is to get laundry all done tonight.
The washer is making some weird noises, and if it's going to break it will be while there is a full load of laundry in it, and Brand will be out of town.
Not to be Debbie Downer, but I know how these things work!
We went to the cemetery today to find my character for the Cemetery Tour. It's so sad, she was married to this guy named Pat.
Pat was a gangster, connected with the mob. Our town's nickname back in the 1900's -1930's was Little Chicago. It's wasn't a pleasant time.
Myrtle hooked up with Pat, and it's my guess that he is the one to turn her into prostitution. She ran one of the many "Rooms" here in North Platte.
Well, he eventually left her for Violet Gosney, who was also a Madame. She ran the joint next door. She was also one legged.
Anyway, she never divorced Pat, even though he was a real peice of work. Myrtle died in 1949, and I think that he and Violet took off. I can't find them anywhere. It's crazy. I know the IRS was after him in the 40's. After that, it's like he has disappeared.
Myrtles head stone is a double stone, and it has a place for him, it sits empty though. It's at times like these that I wish dead people could talk.
I want to hear her life story.
I found her folks down the way...
Myrtle's dad Joseph was 40 when he married her mom Ida. Ida was 16 or 17. I can't remember.
Isn't that crazy?? Then they had 7kids.
One of whom died as an infant.
I love walking through the cemetery...
As we were driving out, I noticed one stone in the really old part that I'm going to research.
It was like a tree trunk, but had a teddy bear towards the top, and anchor on the bottom and little things here and there.
I've probably seen it a million times, but it caught my interest today.
One of the great perks of working at the library...the information is right there if you know where to look!
I'm off to get the prep work done for dinner...then dishes, again.
wow, i have fallen behind in my commenting
but i am not in a good mood today
so i couldn't decide what to write about
i still can't, for that matter!
i am so tired of rude people
It is just simplely wonderful
they ruin my day
plus we had a cricket last night
that was in the house
and was the loudest cricket i have ever heard in my entire life
i thought something was wrong with the dishwasher at 1st!
then i thought maybe the smoke alarm was going off downstairs!
have you ever heard such a loud cricket?
it was so loud, and we couldn't find it
so we had to live with it
so i didn't sleep well
plus sweet pea decided she was going to wake up screaming at 12:30
we gave her tylenol
she does that about once a month is all
so we are lucky!
of course we never know if she is actually hurting
or if she had a bad dream or something
i've often wondered what babies dream about
past lives?
i mean, they really can't have much to dream about
since they don't seem to have fear...
i just can't imagine what they'd dream about
and i don't think scientists will ever be able to figure it out
because that would be mind reading
and i don't think they'll ever be able to do that!
i hope not at least
but it would be interesting if they could see into the minds of babes
to see into their dreams-dogs, too!
i'm tired, i guess that's part of the reason i am not in a good mood
plus i am still learning lots at work
so i ask a lot of questions
and i just keep thinking that i should be able to figure some things out on my own by now!
i don't want to be annoying to my coworkers....
but they are all very patient with me...
which is good!!
walked around the park yesterday
but it got too hot, so we went home
dd was not happy about that!
she wanted to run around more
but we were there for over an hour
-she just doesn't like getting back into the stroller after running around!
we have a dr. appt. tomorrow afternoon
it's supposed to be soooo nice here tomorrow!
77 degrees for a high!
how perfect is that.
if only it could be like that year round
but then everyone would want to move here
then it would be too crowded
and that would be bad
i like it the way it is
4 seasons is the best
always something to look forward to!
we don't get much snow at all
but most people think we get tons of snow here
and that's fine with me!
keeps people out...
i have been working on being more positive
it's hard to be positive & optimistic
when everything is not going your way
but that's what life is all about
and therefore i am concentrating on appreciating everything in my life
i am so grateful for my family
and my friends
gratitude can be overwhelming sometimes, too
but i am so grateful for my dh & dd
i love them so much
so, i have been really concentrating on the good things in life
I have to say, the worst thing about making meatloaf...
instead of the bad things
but it's hard sometimes of course
i really miss traveling
we travelled a ton before dd was born
Is that for the rest of the night Johnny will say "Ma...Meatloaf...Now!" it's from some movie that Will Ferrel stars in. My brother says it all the time...
and i can't wait to travel with her when she gets older!
i love seeing everything through her eyes
so that will be fun
Ma....Meatloaf...Now...
It's pretty funny when he does it to my mom.
I don't think it's so funny when my 8 year old does it.
we've been to france twice
back when we had money!
and it was awesome
one trip was to paris
the other was to the south of france
i put together pretty frugal trips
we rented apartments instead of staying in hotels
very cool
someday we'll get to take dd
that'll be so fun!
and we've been to disney world
but never with kids
so that will be fun when she gets older, too
anyway, make it a happy afternoon, chat later
You know...I just dream about this Micralite all the time...
It's like taken over my thoughts!!
It's scary really!!
Lightweight and folds and will stand up when folded. Great.

We had dinner with Brand's folks tonight...heard all about the cruise!
A cruise sounds like so much fun now!! I want to go on one really bad!!
I've got so much to do before morning! Iron clothes, get lunches made, laundry is almost done.
I'd really love to be a SAHM.
I love my job though. I love the ladies I work with...
We're a family, we may not always get along, but we love each other.
A wish is a dream your heart makes...
That's how it goes, right?
I have Johnny's Curriculum night tomorrow. I'm excited!
We walked over to the school to pick him up today...Pea loved it.
Her favorite thing was picking up wood chips and handing them to me.
Did I tell you I have a sliver of glass in my foot?
I see we are hurtling toward the 4K mark
It hurts like the dickens!! LOL, no, it really does,.
I tried to get it out today, but apparently didn't get it.
My daughter and I went to the water park this evening.
My nail lady suggested a pedi, she'd get it out! LOL
This girl doesn't do pedi's though!
I can't stand people touching my feet!
I'm really working on Pea eating with a fork and spoon. It's not going so hot!
Ouch - a sliver of glass in your foot? That's gotta hurt.
Man, I really have trouble with these visual verifications sometimes.
She'd just as soon comb her hair with the fork and drop the spoon on the dogs head!
Perhaps I need glasses.
Today is a special day.
Pea got a purse for her birthday...it sings and has a mirror and lipstick rattle. It's darn cute!
The song is stuck in my head.
My granny turned 90 years old!
That's a lot of birthdays.
I can't tell ya the words...but the tune is up in the noggin!
She had a small family celebration yesterday.
Most of the family attended.
With the exception of myself and my little family.
Do you know what Ice Blocks are in Australia?
We had to go and live on the other side of the big pond.
Popcicles! How cool is that?
It is times like these that make me regret being so far from family.
Pea has discovered the toilet.
God help us all.
I would have loved to have been there to celebrate my gran.
I got my Twilight shirts today!!
I blogged about her instead.
How cool is that?
Stop by my blog and read my post if you feel like it:)
One says Twilighaholic, another one says Bitten and the last one says
The lion fell in love with the lamb. ~ Edward and Bella.
I'm a Twilight Junkie!
I can't wait until the ones with Edwards point of view comes out.
Ah, just as I hit my stride in my one way chat, my daughter comes running.
She is claiming she wants to go night-night.
Now she is putting her dolls to bed.
She is putting her fingers to her lips.
My dear hubby...bless his pea pickin' heart...
The little pill is telling me to ssshh!
He's always saying...What are you doing on the computer??
Oh, the attitude on this one, its quite something.
He doesn't understand the time and dedication I've put into this!! LOL
She is now swigging back her water.
OK, let me revise that.
Alrightly, Micralite-y...
The days are numbered,
yes you see...
I really want you
to come home to me!!
It turns out she is sprinkling her dolls with water from her sippy cup.
I should be ironing...
This is because she watched me washing her dolls today.
I'm off until tomorrow...farewell!!
She has decided to give them all a bath.
I have just confiscated the soaking dolls.
I am not popular - again.
